Our teacher appreciation ideas

by Maisie

This year for teacher appreciation week, we planned different activities for each day.

On Monday we started the week serving the teachers an early breakfast of muffins and fresh fruit smoothies before school duties.

On Tuesday, our PTA was in school extra early, decorating every classroom with hand-made thank you notes from the children and their parents.

We designated Wednesday as 'teacher pampering day' and set up a 'pamper station'in the staffroom. The PTA arranged for a local massage therapist to give mini hand or shoulder massages to the teachers during their breaks.

On Thursday, we asked parents to bring in home-bake cookies and we made these up into pretty gift baskets for each teacher.

We closed our teacher appreciation week on Friday serving lunch to the teachers under a gazebo we set up in the playground. Parents all brought one dish in for the meal and many helped with serving lunch too!

This was the first year we have celebrated a full teacher appreciation week, and the teachers loved it!
